Nixon Robert Fea and Clara Arnold

Nixon Robert Fea was born in Potosi, Missouri the 9th of July 1863. By 1895 Nixon was living in Moberly near his sister, Elizabeth Kelly nee Fea. His occupation was fireman, which at that time probably referred working as a railroad fireman on a steam engine. Sometime after that he married Clara Arnold. They had two daughters and a son:

• Jessie Fea b. circa 1900

• Monte Nixon Fea b. 2nd January 1901 d. 2nd July 1982 Jefferson County, Texas

• Hazel Fea b. circa 1905

In 1901 the family was living in Thornton, Calhoun County Arkansas where their son Monte was born. By 1910 they were residing in Hampton, Arkansas where Nixon was then employed as an engineer for a steam-loader. By the mid-1920's the family had moved to Electric Mills Mississippi, a town whose existence was owed to it being the location of a large sawmill. At that time his occupation was shown as a merchant. While living there, Nixon and Clara took a trip to Newport, Washington to visit his sister Jessie Cass Scott (nee Fea) and brother, Joseph Smith Fea. William Stewart, a descendent of Catherine Turnbull (nee Fea), recalled meeting them. He said that Nixon (or Nick as he was called) was a strict segregationist and a staunch supporter of labor unions.

Nixon passed away on the 15th of December 1926 and was buried at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Kemper County, Mississippi.
