He married Robina Reid on 30th April 1875. They had six children:

staying at 5 Bridge St. in Kirkwall at the time of the 1901 census.

Barbara Fea b. 1883, d. 1887

Violet Fea b. 1887, d. 1969 who came back to Orkney and stayed at
Bolloquoy in Sanday, the home of the Sanday Feas. She never married
and died in Kirkwall. She has the distinction of being the last person
with the Fea surname in Orkney, a name first recorded with James Fea I
of Clestrain in 1591.
John Fea and Robina Reid found their way to Leith, near Edinburgh
and the start of their family can be seen in the 1881 census, there.

Leith became the home for many Orcadians being the port for Edinburgh.
Robina Peace was also an Orcadian, being born in the north isles
island of Eday. This was the island were James Fea VI of Clestrain
owned Carrick house, following his marriage to Janet Buchanan around 1720.
John Fea died in 1924.
