Leo Reed was the 5th son and 6th child of Frank Reed and Charlotte Linklater, and was born in 1905 at Hawker, SA.

Leo was a Shearer and he also was a picture man before talkies in the Streaky Bay area to Western Australian border in 1924. He went to school in Hawker with the aborigines but he never finished his schooling. He went to work for W. J. Pyman.

Leo married Joan Wheeler who was born in 1908 and died in 1989.

One son was born to Leo and Joan:

• Phillip William Reed married Diane Pamela Inglis.   William worked as a Controller at Torrens Island Power Station.  Two children.
