Ross was the 6th son and the last child (7th) to Frank Reed and Charlotte Linklater. He was born in 1909 and died in 1993.

Ross was a cook by occupation. He had a medal from Crete where he served in the war, and was one of the first to go away on the Queen Mary ship. He also went to Darwin and worked in the G.P.O.

Ross married Kathleen Annie Winfield who died in 1972.
