Kingston upon Hull - A city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, usually referred to as Hull. It stands on the River Hull at its estuary. Both terms have been used.
Drypool - An area within the city of Kingston upon Hull. The first two children of John Brooke Fea and his cousin Cecilia Fea were born in Drypool with the rest of the family born in Sculcoates.
Sculcoates - A suburb of Kingston upon Hull, which in the early 19th century had a population of around 10,500. Some 100 years previously it was a small village. It is about a 1.5 miles north of the city centre. There was also a rural area of Sculcoates from 1894 to 1935, comprising three areas around Kingston upon Hull.
Cottingham - A village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, which is about 6 miles north of Kingston upon Hull. Cecilia Fea was in Cottingham in 1881.
Hedon - It is about 5 miles east of the centre of Kingston upon Hull. Caroline Fea, the earliest known child of William Fea and Elizabeth Bell was born in Hedon.
Elstronwick - A village about three and a half miles north east of Hedon. Elizabeth Bell Fea was there in 1861 and companion to an aunt. The aunt was born in Elstronwick.
