Janet Jessie Lowe Winton and John Gillespie
Janet Jessie Lowe Winton (b. 17th May 1851) was the second child of Alexander Winton and Helen Fea. While born in Glasgow, she moved with the family to Grangemouth as a young child.
Janet married John Gillespie (b. 23rd January 1853, Glasgow) in Glasgow on 20th October 1876. John was the son of Alexander Gillespie and Margaret Vallance.
Their five children were born in Glasgow where John was an ironmonger and blacksmith.

Ellen (Nellie) Gillespie b. abt 1879 in Partick, Glasgow who married Sherrod Scorel Macintosh (b. 26th September 1880, Salineville, Ohio). Sherrod was a son of John C Macintosh and Mary Anna Connell. They had family and lived in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Ellen died at Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga in August 1956, aged seventy seven. Sherrod died there in July 1969, aged eighty eight.
- Marguerite V Gillespie b. 1882 who married Sigurd Thomas Wessel (b. 25th August 1878, Norway). They lived in Wisconsin and had family. Sigurd died at Koochiching, Minnesota on 10th September 1932, aged fifty four.
- Jessie Gillespie b. abt 1883 who married Victor Christian Reese (b. 23rd March 180, Cleveland, Ohio) on 22nd February 1906. They had family but divorced in 1917. Jessie married Willis E Geoghegan (b. 25th October 1881, Pennsylvania) on 23rd February 1922 in Cuyahoga, Ohio. She died in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio in January 1957 and Willis in Los Angles, California on 24th January 1960.
- Alexander W Gillespie b. abt 1885, Cambuslang, Glasgow who married his cousin Mary A Roy (b. September 1883, Scotland) on 9th April 1906 in Essex, Ontario. Mary was a daughter of David Roy and Helen Winton. Alexander and Mary had family. They lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. Alexander died in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio in 1944, aged fifty nine and Mary died there on 17th September 1959, aged seventy six.

John V Gillespie b. 23rd November 1887, Cambuslang, Glasgow who married Ethel M Kunkel (b. abt 1891). They had family. John died at Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Ohio on 30th January 1964, aged seventy six.
The family were at 44 Kelvingrove St in 1881, moving to 41 Sandyford Rd by 1891 and 3 Sandyford Pl by 1901. In 1891, John's occupation is given as ironmonger and in 1901 as hardware manufacturer's agent.
The family emigrated to the US in 1904 and lived in Cuyahoga County, Ohio where other siblings of Janet, including elder sister Catherine Winton and younger brother Alexander Winton, had already settled.
Janet was at Rockport, Cuyahoga in 1910 and Lakewood, Cuyahoga in 1930. She died at Rocky River, Cuyahoga, Ohio on 27th October 1935.
