John Hepburn Fea and Mary Taylor Hubert

John Fea was born on 19th September, 1849, in Kirkwall.


FEA, John Hepburn, lawful son of David Fea and Elizabeth Hepburn, his spouse, was born on 19th September, 1849 and baptised by the Rev.Mc.McLean.   Witness the congregation.

He migrated to Adelaide with his parents when he was five years old.  John was a Printer in 1868; later a Compositor.

He married Mary Taylor Hubert (1855 - 1891) on 17th April, 1875, at the dwelling house of David Fea, Logan street, Adelaide.  They lived at Mill-street, Adelaide;  George street, Parkside,  Franklin Street, Adelaide, and Gepps Cross

Mary died in 1891, aged 36 years.  She contracted Influenza & Broncho Pneumonia, and died two days after the premature birth of John Hubert.  She left four children aged between 0 and 10 to be brought up.  Bessie, the eldest, stayed with her father.  David, then aged 8, went to live with his Fea grandparents, then in their 70s.

He died 2nd July 1918 at Gepps Cross, SA, aged 72 years (Cerebral Haemorrhage)
