William Linklater Hepburn was the fourth child of William Hepburn and Marion Brodie Linklater. He was born 21st June, 1889, at Metropolitan Road, Enmore, NSW (src.T.Weekes & NSW index 12111).

He married Ethel E Dempsey in 1915 and they had one child:

• Herbert Dempsey Hepburn born 24th May, 1917. Herbert married Phoebe (1927 - 1994) They lived at Drummoyne, New South Wales and had one daughter.

• Jayne Anne Hepburn, who married John Charles Spargo. Jayne and John live at Winston Hills, NSW and have two children:
  • Elizabeth (Libby)/Debbie) born 1983
  • Steven, born 1985

William died on 14th July, 1950.
