"...Marines and sailors (came) violently rushing into ...the
house of Sound with Arms Swords and Pistolls and breaking open the lockfast
places in said house and entering ....Janet Buchanan her Bed Chamber &
Compelling her to rise without allowing her any time other than to put
on a loose Gown and Smock Petticoat and dragging her out of the house and
Stopt her from going away and placed her before the Entry in a Chair guarded
by a number of their Crew and shott at by one of them with a musket and
had a naked Cutlass or sword placed at her Breast by another (and she)
was forcibly kept there till she saw the Effects & furniture in the
house either robbed plundered or carryed away or burnt or destroyed, And
by her being so dragged and used (she) disocate(d) her Ancle and suffered
a Contusion to the prejudice of her health ever since."
