Henrietta Fea and William Sutherland

Henrietta Fea married William Sutherland, the son of Dr Hugh Sutherland. Allan Fea in The Real Captain Cleveland conjectures that this could be the same Dr Hugh Sutherland to whom her apparent brother, James Fea, was apprenticed.  Thomas Neill, who married Jean Traill, was later to seek out the garden used by Dr Sutherland for his herbals.

Henrietta Fea and William Sutherland had a son and two daughters:

• Henrietta Sutherland who married a lawyer from Gloucestershire named Bloxome and emigrated to Australia.
• Another daughter who married a Mr Linley
• Alexander Malcolm Sutherland (b. October 1806)

William Sutherland had a post in Greenwall, Jamaica and died there in 1806.  Henrietta returned to England, that year, and died in childbirth.
