Catherine died at the age of 80 on 6th June 1919 at Newport, Washington. The following obituary appeared in the Newport Miner.
At her home in this city (Newport, Washington) Monday evening occurred the death of Mrs. Catherine Turnbull. She had been in poor health for several years. Catherine Fea was a native of Scotland. She came to this country with her parents when eleven years old and on Sept. 29th, 1859, was married to William (Grant) Turnbull at St. Louis, Missouri. To them eleven children were born, of whom one died in infancy and ten survive her. Of the children, Wm. F. has made his home with his mother, Grant also resides in Newport and Mrs. Jas. Stewart at Usk. The others are Chilton B. and Jewel of Fairfield, Montant; Mrs. Thompson of Marshfield, Oregon: Mrs. Merritt of Granite City, Ill; and three sons, Jas. J., Robt. A and Thomas W. of Potosi, (Washington county) Missouri. A sister, Mrs. J. C. Scott resides in Newport Mr. Turnbull died 25 years ago.
Mrs. Turnbull reached the age of 80 years. Since 1901 she resided in Newport, and was known and beloved by many of our people as "Aunt Kate." She was a good mother, one of those home-loving women whose every thought is of devotion and sacrifice for her own.
Funeral services were held at Congregational Church Thursday morning, conducted by Rev. Jas. N. Pendleton. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery beside her mother (Ann Liddle Fea) who died ten years ago.
