Joseph Nixon Fea married Lillie Irene Bailey (b. 23rd March 1897) of Washington County, Missouri on 31st August 1915. They had three sons and a number of grandchildren.

• Thomas Nixon Fea b. 1918, d. 22nd July 1977 at Granite City, Madison, Illinois

• Johnnie James Fea b. 30th January 1920, d. 20th November 1981

Lilllie died on 22nd April 1950.

Joseph remarried, Hazel Pearl King (b. 1st July 1908, Leadington, Missouri) on 24th March 1955.

He died on 7th June 1980.
