Ann Elizabeth Fea and Robert Williamson

Ann Elizabeth Fea (b. abt 1835) was a daughter of Magnus Sinclair Fea and Mary Larnoch.

She married Robert Williamson (b. 10th January 1840), the son of David William Williamson and Elizabeth Hunter, in Lerwick on 10th November 1864.

Ann and Robert had two children:

  • Elizabeth Williamson b. 24th July 1869 in Yell who died in October 1870
  • Elizabeth Ann Williamson b. 1st October 1870 in Yell

Ann was in Yell in 1871 and is described as a crofter's wife. The household includes her six month old daughter Elisabeth Ann Williamson and also here mother in law, Elizabeth Hunter. It is noted that there is a Robert Williamson who appears in the 1871 census as a line manager on the vessel Ploynia, part of a large crew.

In subsequent censuses, Robert's occupation is given as seaman and fisherman.

Ann died at Spirriegarth, Yell on 29th December 1874.

Robert remarried on 23rd November 1876, his second wife being Robina Bain. Robert and Robina had family who were born in Lerwick.

Daughter Elizabeth Ann Williamson from Robert's first marriage was with the family at Hill Lane in Lerwick on 1881. Robert and Robina were to remain in Lerwick.

Elizabeth Ann Williamson was with her aunt Christina Williamson in Yell in 1891. Christina was Robert's sister. Elizabeth was then nineteen.

Robert and Robina were at 44 Commercial St., Lerwick in 1901 and he died there on 13th May 1923 at the age of eighty three.
