Cameron, also known as Cam, was born to Frank Reed and Charlotte Linklater on the 10th October, 1892 in Hawker, SA.
When he was ready to leave school one of the Kidman's droving outfits spent several days in the district and Cameron persuaded his mother to let him join them; thus began his many long years in the far outback, particularly at Cordillo Downs and Arrabury, but later he built up quite a successful business as a well sinker.
In 1936 Cam married Theodocia Mary Cornellius, a Broken Hill girl, and they had one son: -
Cameron died on the 8th July, 1980 in Broken Hill, New South Wales.
