Annie Drever and John Reid

Annie Drever was the second of four children to Jane Hercus and Robert Drever. She was born at Moa, Westray on 9th June 1873. She married John Reid (b. 18th September 1870) who was the youngest surviving son of Charles Reid and Jean Gray. John was a joiner, like his father, and stayed with his parents at Millhouse in the Westside of Westray

They were at Daisybank with the start of their family in 1901.

The family emigrated to Canada around 1902 with the last three children being born in Winnipeg. Their family comprised:

• William Reid b. 22nd June 1901 at Daisybank, Westray

• George Gray Reid b. May 1903 in Winnipeg

• James D Reid b. July 1904 in Winnipeg

• Albert Reid b. 6 March 1912 in Winnipeg who married Lillian Soothill. They had family.

Annie Drever died on 10th April 1915 in Winnipeg. John Reid died there a year later on 10th April 1916.
