William C Harcus

The 1900 census for Providence, Rhode Island, New England records a William C Harcus who was born in Scotland in September 1862. It is not known for certain but this could be the son of William Harcus and Mary Wishart Curisiter who was born on 7th September 1862.

Their son was in the Kirkwall census for 1881 with the family in Shore St. His occupation at that time was printer compositor. If this is the same William Harcus then he went to the US shortly thereafter.

William C Harcus married Florence A Fuller probably about 1896. She was born in Rhode Island in February 1868.

William and Florence are thought to have had at least two children:

• Wilmore C Harcus, born 28th September 1896, Rhode Island who married Hazel Wilmarth Foley about 1922. He died in Los Angeles on 16th September 1970.

• Eldora Fuller Harcus, born 6th September 1899, Rhode Island. She died in Los Angeles on 1st April 1991 at the age of ninety one.

In 1910 there was a William C Harcus in Plymouth, Brockton Co, Massachusetts and Worcester, Massachusetts in 1920.
