Seals are a common sight on the Holm and Pharay. These are on the east side of the Holm. "Faray" and the "Faray Holm" were designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1992 and Faray a Special Area for Conservation in 2005, again for the grey seal breeding colony.
