James Fea and Jean Cooper \ Peter Fea and Christina Hepburn \ Eleanor Wymms Fea \ Charlotte Ann Linklater Thomas Hepburn ReedThomas was born on the 3rd October, 1898 in Hawker, SA. When he was seventeen, with two older brothers on active service in France, he persuaded his mother to sign the necessary papers for him to enlist, and he joined them. On his nineteenth birthday he was very severely wounded, and minus one leg, was the first of the soldiers to be returned to his home town, and a flag be-decked railway station. Later he was classified as totally and permanently incapacitated. Fortunately the Repatriation Department took adequate care of the men who were so obviously unable to work for their living. Tom married on the 25th June, 1921 to a Victorian girl Jewell Mavis
Dames.
When his family had grown up, and he had been a widower for some years, Tom married Ruth Noske from Lyndoch and they lived in a home unit in the TPI complex on South Terrace, Adelaide. Tom died on the 12th November, 1973. | |||
