William Drever and Margaret Drever

William Drever (b. 5th June 1857) was the only son among the four children of James Drever and Isabella Bews.

He moved from the family home at Mount Pleasant, Westray to Roadside on marrying Margaret (Maggie) Drever (b. 19th November 1863) in March 1886. She was the daughter of Robert Drever and Betsy Groat from East Hammar.

They were at Roadside at the time of the 1891 census and probably moved to the Drever family home at Mount Pleasant around 1897. William and Margaret had nine children:

• Elizabeth Drever b. 12th March 1887

• Isabella Drever b. 7th January 1889

• James William Drever b. 25th August 1891 who farmed at Mount Pleasant and died there on 14th April 1957

• Thomima Drever b. 29th January 1894

• Robert Drever b. 10th August 1896

• George Bews Drever b. 5th November 1899

• John Drever b. 29th January 1902

• Thomas Alfred Drever b. 17th May 1906

• Jessie Robertson Drever b. 7th May 1909

Margaret Drever died at Mount Pleasant on 24th October 1935. William died there on 10th February 1940. He was eighty three.
