Thomas Traill Drummond and Catherine Stewart McDonald

Thomas Traill Drummond (b. 22nd July 1867) was a son of Thomas Reid Drummond and May Miller.

He was born in Westray, following their move from Papa Westray and was with the family at Gaird in 1881. In 1885 he went to the US, settling in Racine, Wisconsin.

Thomas married Catherine McDonald (b. 15th September 1865) about 1891. She was from Westray and the daughter of blacksmith William McDonald and Isabella Rendall of Broughton. She had gone to the US some four years previously.

Thomas and Catherine had five children:

• George Miller Drummond, born 4th August 1891,Chicago, Illinois. It is thought that he died on 9th December 1898 and is interred in the Mound Cemetery, Racine.

• Isobel May Drummond, born about 1893, Racine, Wisconsin. She was with her parents in Spokane, WA in 1930. It is thought that she died there on 27th October 1967.

• Grace Jane Drummond, born 3rd December 1894, Racine who married James Sabiston in Washington State.

• Mildred Drummond, born 24th August 1897, Racine who married Ralph A Morse. She died in Spokane, WA in August 1978.

• Emma Catherine Drummond, born 16th March 1900, Racine

The family subsequently had moved from Racine, Wisconsin to Spokane, Washington State by 1910. Catherine died there on 20th March 1950 and Thomas, a few months later, on 18th June 1950.
