Margaret Drummond and John Spark Rendall

Margaret Drummond (b. 22nd October 1854) was the younger of the two daughters of Stewart Drummond and Elizabeth Drever. She was in Kirkwall with her mother by 1871, her father having died in Westray in 1856.

She married John Spark Rendall in Victoria St on 23rd July 1874. John was the son of John Rendall and Janet Rendall. He was born in Kirkwall on 11th August 1848.

Margaret and John had two children:

• Elizabeth Margaret Rendall, born 1876 in Kirkwall and died on 21st January 1944

• John Rendall, born 1878 in Kirkwall who married Mary Shearer Leonard on 26th September 1907. Mary was the daughter of John Leonard and Isabella Kent. Mary died on 10th September 1954 and John on 16th November 1963. They had family.

John was a plumber.

Margaret died in Victoria St on 20th November 1880. She was twenty six.

John remarried in 1882 in Westray. His second wife was Agnes Reid, a daughter of Robert Reid and Mary Logie. John and Agnes had a large family. He died on 18th November 1927 and Agnes on 14th October 1939.
