Robert Sinclair and Barbara Leslie

Robert Sinclair (b. 21st March 1867) was a son of John Sinclair and Jean Smith Harcus.

He married Barbara Leslie (b. 22nd May 1862) in 1887. Barbara was the daughter of Thomas Leslie and Barbara Kent of Airy in Westray. Barbara was a granddaughter of Jean Hourston from Pharay who had married George Leslie.

Robert and Barbara stayed at Airy where most of their six children were born:

• Margaret Ann Drever Sinclair, born 14th June 1889

• Thomas Leslie Sinclair, born 27th January 1891

• Mary Jane Sinclair, 6th December 1892

• John Sinclair, born 13th January 1895

• George Leslie Sinclair, born 8th November 1898

Robert died in Shore St, Kirkwall on 30th April 1925 and Barbara on 12th March 1939.
