Mary Sinclair and James Seatter Stout

Mary Sinclair (b. 12th May 1877) was a daughter of John Sinclair and Jean Smith Harcus.

She married James Seatter Stout (b. 24th December 1872) of East Tieng in 1902. James was a son of John Lindsay Stout and Stewart Seatter. (See Stout Genealogy)

Mary and James had four children:

• John Lindsay Stout, born 29th December 1902; died 13th July 1923 at Shinglebrae, Westray

• Mary Jane Harcus Stout, born 4th February 1907; died 27th July 1924 at Shinglebrae, Westray

• James Seatter Stout, born 18th October 1908 who went to Australia

• Annabella Mckay Stout, born 15th February 1912

They lived at Shinglebrae, Westray where Mary died on 21st June 1922. She was forty four. Mary and her first two children died within two years, Mary of influenza and the children of tuberculosis.
