Long Sand is not marked on the OS map but lies between the natural arch and Starry Geo (which are on the map) on the west side of the island.

Long Sandy Geo provides an almost idyllic tourist brochure setting. Rousay can be seen in the distance and Rusk Holm in the middle distance.

The other stretch of sand on Pharay is at Scammalin Bay, on the east side of the island.
