From the Boat: Windywa

This is one of a series of photos taken from the boat going from Kirkwall to Rapness in Westray, along the west side of Pharay. They were taken on a November morning when conditions were not ideal but they give a feeling for the position of the houses on the island and their proximity to the sea.

	Windywa lies above the Langie Geos and proximity to the the geos can be seen from the photo. The dwelling house lies end on to the geos. This view is from the south. A number of outbuildings on this side of the house have been demolished in the last twenty years Lakequoy lies to the north of Windywa, although more to the top of the island, and Holland is to the south. Hammer lies to the north of Lakequoy although probably not visible from the boat
