Robert was the first born to Robert Miller Linklater and Sarah Ann Taylor (on the 24th October, 1901 at Solomontown, Port Pirie, South Australia.)

According to Robert's will, he had been living at 5 Fifth Street, Bowden and had been a State Retired Storeman.

Robert married a widow Constance Ellen Delahaye who had three children.

He died on 8th October 1984.
