Leonard Thomas Halfpenny and Kathleen Grace Jose

Len was born at Tibooburra, NSW. He married Kathleen Grace Jose.

He was a Grazier and lived with Kath and his family on Nundora Station, via Broken Hill, NSW. Len and Kath moved to a smaller property at Goolwa, SA, whilst Robert & Joan and Barbara managed Nundora.  Eventually a Manager was put at Nundora and then it was put up for sale.

Their children were:

  • Barbara Ann Halfpenny who lived at Nundora Station and went to school at the Presbyterian Ladies College, Orange, NSW. When her parents moved to Goolwa, Barbara spent her time between Nundora Station and Goolwa. After Len and Kath died, Barbara took on looking after the property. She eventually moved to Kangaroo Island with Christopher (her partner) where they have a small holding.
  • Robert Leonard Halfpenny  married  Joan Alice Bernard. Joan is a daughter of William Richard & Doris Mabel (Wells) Bernard and  was born  at Salinos, California, USA.  Robert lived and worked on Nundora Station, but eventually moved to the South East of South Australia where he and Joan have a property.
  • Roslyn Jean Halfpenny . Roslyn was born with Downs Syndrome.

Len died of Leukaemia in 1983 at the RAH, Adelaide - Kath dying one year later  at Victor Harbour.
