Jessie Ann Benston and John Miller

Jessie Ann Benson (b. 14th October 1870) was the oldest of the eight children of Adam Benston and Ann Fraser and was with her parents at Gullionquoy in 1881 and 1891.

She married John Harcus Miller (b. 12th February 1868) on 4th December 1893. John was the son of Robert Miller and Christina Harcus from Sandybank in the West Side.

Jessie and John were at Greenenave at the time of the 1901 census. They had four children:

• John Harcus Miller, born 12th January 1894. John died at Greenenave on 29th January 1970. He was unmarried.

• Rose Annie Fraser Miller, born 11th March 1895. She married William (Billy) Groat (b. 27th November 27th November 1898) on 1st January 1921. Billy was the son of Robert Groat and Ann Tulloch. They lived at Calfsound and had two sons. Rose died on 28th January 1980 and Billy on 1st December 1986.

• Adeline Sophia Benston Miller, born 8th June 1896. Adeline died on 6th October 1976. She was unmarried.

• Robert Miller, born abt. 1900

Jessie died on 19th October 1930 and John in 1954.
