John Scott Seatter and Jemima Reid

John Scott Seatter, the son of James Seatter of Noup, Westray and Elizabeth Reid was born 8th June 1864. On 7th July 1893, in Eday, he married Jemima Reid, born 15th May 1871 to James Reid and Isabella Reid of Smittlady, Westray (and later of Holland, Pharay).

James and Jemima had the following children:

• James Seatter, b. 29th July 1894 who died at Schoolha, Evie, age 21, 11th Nov. 1915 of tuberculosis

• Robert Reid Seatter, b. 24th Nov 1896 and died 12th Oct 1918 in hospital in Egypt while serving in WWI

• David Sinclair Seatter, b. 4th Dec 1901 and married Annie Seatter Rendall of Skethaquoy, Westray in February 1923. David died 14th June 1934, age 32, at Noup. Annie died 2nd Aug 1976, age 73. David and Annie had three children.

James and Robert were born at Noup before the family went to Hammar, Pharay about 1900.

The family left Hammar for Evie about 1915, but were back at Noup by 1923 when David was married. They were on Pharay about 15 years, all of it at Hammar. John Seatter died at Noup 10th May 1951, age 86 and Jemima died 15th June 1954, age 83.
