Jane Rousay and John William Arthur Apperley

Jane Rousay (b. 8th November 1873) was the youngest of the four children of Robert Rousay and Margaret Harcus and was with her widowed father when they emigrated from Eday to Yorkton in 1889.

She married John William Arthur Apperley on 22nd December 1897. John was born on 9th August 1869 in Alliston, Simcoe Co., Ontario. He was the son of Thomas Apperley and Sarah White.

Jane and John had one child who was born in Whitewood, Assiniboia:

• Alva Apperley, born 19th November 1898 who married Agnes Elizabeth Edgar on 11th November 1929 at Avonlea, Saskatchewan. Alva died on 5th June 1964 in Whitewood.

Jane died the following year on 19th May 1899 at Whitewood.

John remarried some time prior to 1906. His second wife was Martha Jane Still (or possibly Steele).

John died in Whitewood on 28th April 1940.
