Stevenson

The 1810 rental for Pharay records a George Stevenson being at Holland. It is thought that he was married to Isabella Sinclair as the Old Parish Records indicate two children born to this couple around this time:

• George Stevenson, born 19th May 1800 in Pharay who married Charlotte Corrigal

• John Stevenson, born 31st October 1802. Nothing further is known of John Stevenson.

The Old Parish Records are silent as to whether the children were born in Eday or Pharay. However, subsequent census information indicates that George at least was born in Pharay.

Neither George nor Isabella appear in the censuses and it is not known when they died or who their parents were.

Much later, in 1901, a Thomas Stevenson from Westray was at Lakequoy. He was a son in law of James Groat and Mary Drummond.
