Introduction / Families StevensonThe 1810 rental for Pharay records a George Stevenson being at Holland. It is thought that he was married to Isabella Sinclair as the Old Parish Records indicate two children born to this couple around this time:
The Old Parish Records are silent as to whether the children were born in Eday or Pharay. However, subsequent census information indicates that George at least was born in Pharay. Neither George nor Isabella appear in the censuses and it is not known when they died or who their parents were. Much later, in 1901, a Thomas Stevenson from Westray was at Lakequoy. He was a son in law of James Groat and Mary Drummond. | |||
