Introduction / Westray Grays / George Gray and Margaret Seatter / George Gray and Jean Reid Mary Gray and Andrew HarcusMary Gray (b. 30th June 1781), a daughter of George Gray and Jean Reid, married Andrew Harcus (b. circa 1794) on 5th December 1828. They were staying at Cleat in Westray, which is near the Grays at Gretnagreen, at the time of the 1841 census. There is no mention of children in the household.
They were at Storehouse in 1851, when Andrew is described as a pauper and fisherman. Mary Gray died at Gretnagreen on 27th January 1859 at the age of seventy-seven. The informant to the death registration was her nephew, George Gray. In 1861, Andrew is a boarder at No 2 Mill Place. He is again described as a pauper and also widower. | ||||||||||||||||||||
