Thomas Tulloch and Jean Rendall

Thomas Tulloch was a son of John Tulloch and Mary Ann Gray, and was baptised in Westray on 26th September 1819. He was in his parents' house at Nearhouse, Westray, in the 1841 census, at which time his occupation was fisherman. He married Jean (Jane) Rendall (daughter of Robert Rendall and Merron Paterson) in Westray on 22nd November 1845, and they are known to have had two sons, both born/christened in Westray:

  • John Tulloch, christened on 23rd May, 1847. He was a farm servant when he died, unmarried, of chronic bronchitis at Clickinan, Westray, on 29th December 1880, age 33 years.

Thomas and Jean and their sons were at Dunkirk, Westray, in the 1851 census, when Thomas was again listed as a fisherman. In 1861 they were at Aikerly, as shown below:

Thomas died of consumption on 23rd Sept. 1869 at Slap, Westray. Jane and her sons were still at Slap in the 1871 census. Jane died 25th January 1875.
