Janet Drever and James Reid

Janet Drever was the second of the six children of John Drever and Barbara Groat. She was born on 11th August 1842 and with the family at Windywa.

Janet married James Reid from Eday on 13th March 1865 at Windywa. He was born on 14th July 1834 to James Reid and Margaret Miller.

They lived at Reid’s Castle in Eday where James was a shoemaker. There is no family known of Janet and James. She died at Reid’s Castle on 10th March 1900 at the age of fifty seven.

James remarried in Eday in 1907. His second wife was Mary Groundwater. He died at Reid’s Castle on 17th May 1922. He was eighty seven.
