William Bruce Stout and Mary Thomson Leslie

William Bruce Stout (b. 28th July 1865) was a son of Lawrence Stout and Jean Leslie.

He married Mary Thomson Leslie (b. 25th March 1872) in December 1890. Mary was the daughter of Robert Leslie and Mary Drever. Her mother was born in Pharay.

William and Mary had two children who were born at Braeside, Westray:

• Mary Jane Stout, born 27th October 1891 who married William Sutherland in Kirkwall on 12th March 1918.

• Jemima Stout, born 13th September 1893; died 10th October 1895

William was a farmer. He died on 4th September 1900.

Mary subsequently married another William Stout, a first cousin of her late husband and they continued to live at Braeside.
