William Stout and Mary Thomson Leslie

William Stout (b. 20th February 1860) was the youngest of the three children of Jeremiah Stout and Christian Leslie.

He married widow Mary Thomson Leslie (b. 25th March 1872) in Westray in January 1905. Mary had been previously married to William’s first cousin, William Bruce Stout. (See Stout Genealogy). Mary was the daughter of Robert Leslie and Mary Drever. Her mother was born in Pharay.

William and Mary had one son who was born at Braeside:

• John William Robert Stout, born 25th August 1908. John married Maggie Ann Harcus (b. 30th December 1917) in 1942. Maggie was the daughter of Robert Harcus and Ann Seator. She died on 22nd September 1964 and John died at Braeside on 3rd May 1974. They had family.

William died at Braeside on 29th April 1910 and Mary died there on 2nd December 1942.
