Introduction / Families / Sinclair William SinclairA William Sinclair is known to have lived on Pharay around 1800 as according to the OPR he witnessed two baptisms (George Stevenson in 1800 and Alexander Sinclair Harcus in 1812). This may be the William Sinclair who was appears at Windywa in the 1810 rental. Robert Sinclair and Jane Drever were at Windywa in 1841. Their first son was named William Sinclair. A study of naming patterns reveals that the first son was often named for the paternal grandfather. Consequently it is thought that Robert’s father may have been William Sinclair. | |||
