William Rendall and Jane Sandison

William Rendall (b. 16th March 1862) was the oldest of the four children of William Rendall and Margaret Rendall. He married Jane Sandison on 28th February 1884. Jane was born on 12th March 1863. She was the daughter of William Sandison and Betsy Rendall from Roadside.

William was to continue the line of William Rendalls at Peatwall like his father and grandfather of the same name before him. His occupation was that of fisherman.

William and Jane had four children, the first two born at Roadside with the others born at Peatwall:

  • Jane Reid Hewison Rendall b. 11th September 1884 who married Thomas Reid Rendall in 1902. Thomas (b. 19th October 1879) was the oldest son of fisherman William Rendall and Elizabeth Bremner. Jane and Thomas had family. She died on 15th May 1956 at the age of fifty six.
  • William Rendall b. 29th October 1886
  • Robert Scollay Rendall b. 1st August 1889
  • John Rendall b. 19th March 1894 who married (1) Betsy Groat in 1920 and (2) Annie Seatter in 1938. John and Betsy had a daughter who died as an infant. John died on 30th November 1984 at the age of ninety.

William died on 25th August 1949 at Links in Rackwick at the age of eighty seven. His occupation was given as retired farmer. Jane had died there fifteen years previously on 18th September 1934 at the age of seventy one.
