Robert Gray and Marion Meal

Westray baptismal records show the christening, on 29th September 1754, of a son born to George Gray and Margaret Seatter. His name was not given, but it is thought that he was named Robert, and that it was he who married Marion (or Marian) Meal (also spelled Meall).

Robert Gray and Marion Meal are known to have had the following children:

• George Gray, christened sometime in 1777, but the exact date was not recorded.

• William Gray, christened 10 June 1780

• Margaret Gray, christened 3 March 1787

• Mary Gray, christened 23 March 1790

• Barbara Gray, christened 27 July 1793

• Peter Gray, christened 12 January 1796

Robert was a farmer, according to the death registrations of his sons William and Peter. No further information has been found for either Robert or Marion.
