William Gray and Ann Sandison

William Gray was the second son of Robert Gray and Marion Meal, and was christened in Westray on 10th June 1780. He married Ann Sandison, probably about 1802, and the records indicate that they had four daughters and one son. Their children were:

• Margaret Gray, christened 3rd March 1803. She married David Logie.

• Elspeth (Elizabeth) Gray, christened 1st July 1805, who married James Rendall.

• Janet Gray, christened 9th August 1808. She married William Tulloch.

• Barbara Gray, christened 19th May 1814. She married Robert Rendall.

• Robert Gray, christened 31st March 1816. He married Eliza Muir.

William was a farmer, according to the census records and his death registration, and was at Gorn, Westray, in the 1841 and 1851 censuses. He died 11th February 1855. No gravestone has been found for him, nor has any record been found for Ann Sandison's death.
