William Gullion and Isabella Drever

William is the oldest known child of George Gullion and Isabella Allan. He was born on Westray about 1801, and married, about 1820, Isabella Drever, daughter of Thomas Drever and Ann Hourston. They had four children, all baptised in the parish of Eday and Pharay:

• Mary Gullion, c. 11th Aug 1821 who married William Peace.

• Isabella Gullion c. 21st Nov 1823 who married William Dunnet.

• Charles Gullion, c. 13 July 1827 who married Margaret Sullivan.

• Stewart Gullion, b. abt. 1839 who married John Wards.

William and Isabella may have lived on Pharay for a number of years, as their daughters Mary and Isabella were born there. However, they were on Eday for many years, at Newbigging and Benston Hall and later at Castles in Calfsound. William was a crofter. Isabella died at Castles, on 9th September 1872, age 79. William died there on 26th June 1884, age 83.
