David Drummond and Janet Fraser

David Drummond (b. 27th April 1845) was a son of John Drummond and Janet Reid.

He was with the family at the Ness in Pharay in 1851 and 1861. He married Janet Fraser (b. 13th February 1848) in Eday on 28th November 1867. Janet was the daughter of James Fraser and Janet Hourston.

They emigrated to the US in 1869 and had six children who were born in Wisconsin:

  • Frank Drummond, born December 1871 who married Bessie E Langlois, the daughter of Nicholas Langloise and Elizabeth Gillett, on 22nd September 1897 in Racine Co. He lived most of his life in Walworth Co where he had a hardware store. Frank died in 1936.
  • Janet Drummond, born March 1874 and married Edwin T Higgins on 12th February 1903 in Walworth Co.
  • Fay Stewart Drummond, born December 1878. He died in Gallatin, Montana on 14th February 1929. His wife’s name was given as Alta Rose.
  • Robert Drummond, 2nd May 1882; died 9th September 1902, Walworth Co.
  • Wallace William Drummond, 9th November 1888 who married Ruby Babcock in 1915. Wallace was a general store merchant. He died in 1939.

Janet and David were in East Troy, Walworth Co, Wisconsin in 1870.

David died on 12th August 1904 and is interred at Honey Creek Cemetery, Rochester, Wisconsin.

In the 1920 census, Janet was at the house of a cousin, Robert Stobie Drummond.

In 1930, she was with her daughter Jeanette Higgins (Janet Drummond). Her son, Wallace Drummond lived nearby.

Janet died on 26th May 1930 and is also interred in Honey Creek Cemetery, Rochester, Wisconsin.
