"Erected by their parents in memory of Barbara Drummond who was called home Dec 10th 1860*, aged 7 years and her brother John J Collister Jany 3rd 1862*, aged 6 months."

* Note: The date of death per the Register of Deaths for Barbara is 11th Dec 1860 and for John is 28th Dec 1861.

Barbara amd John were children of William Drummond and his first wife, Isabella Harcus. The family lived at the Ness.

John Drummond died of tuberculosis. His mother also died of tuberculosis, shortly before on 2nd December 1861
