Henry Dunbar and Esther Barr McQueen

Henry was the second of four children thought to be to Mary Tulloch and Thomas William Jones Dunbar. His birth at Garrison Place, Falkirk on 19th Aug 1892 was registered as Henry Tulloch but he subsequently adopted the Dunbar surname.

He was with his mother, older brother and younger sister, at Mansfield St, Partick, Glasgow at the time of the 1911 census.

Henry also used the name Arthur and, as Arthur Dunbar, married Esther Barr McQueen (b. 30 Mach 1902) at St Aloysius Church, Glasgow on 17th Jun 1925. Esther was the daughter of David Barr McQueen and Rose Bonnar. Henry was a flour miller, living at Anderson St, Partick at the time while Esther lived in Broomhill Street.

Henry (Arthur) and Esther had three children.

Esther died in Glasgow on 18th September 1956

Arthur was living at the time at Towerhill Rd, Knightswood, Glasgow but died at the Western Infirmary on 11th October 1967, aged 75. His occupation before he retired was ship’s cook.
