"Erected by Robert Groat in memory of his beloved wife Margaret Hercus who departed this life Jan 11 1859, aged 22 years. Robert Groat also died Sep 12 1872, aged 40 years." Robert Groat from Lakequoy, who married his first cousin, Margaret Harcus from Doggerboat in 1856. Margaret died at the age of twenty two. Robert was widower at Quoy in 1861 and 1871. They had one daughter who was brought up by her maternal grandparents. | ||||||
