Margaret Lennie and John Rendall

Margaret Lennie (c. 2^nd February 1808) was the oldest child of William Lennie and Louisa Gray. She married John Rendall (b. 1811) on 3^rd November 1829 in Westray. John was the son of Robert Rendall and Marjory Groat.

Margaret and John lived at Quoynabreckan and are known to have had eight children:

• Jane Rendall b.22^nd April 1830 who married John Rendall

• Catherine Rendall b. 20^th October 1832

• William Rendall b. 12^th June 1834

• James Rendall b. 9^th November 1836 who married Jessie Sandison

• Margaret Rendall b. 4^th April 1840 who married her cousin, William Rendall

• Louisa Rendall b. 27^th March 1842 who married William Thomson

• John Rendall b. 7^th November 1844 who married Isabella Paterson

• David Rendall b. 21^st March 1850 who married Elizabeth Pottinger

John Rendall farmed the 15 acres of Quoynabreckan throughout his life. He died there on 22^nd July 1868 at the age of fifty seven.

Margaret Lennie died there twelve years later on 29^th March 1881 at the age of seventy three.
