Thomas Drever and Jane Groat

Thomas Drever (b. 19th December 1818) was the second of the four sons of David Drever and Ann Reid from Hammar. He married Jane Groat (b. 29th March 1819) from Quoy on 10th November 1840.

Jane was the daughter of Robert Groat and Janet Guthrie. Thomas and Jane formed a separate household at Quoy at the time of the 1841 census with their first child who was then four months old.

Thomas and Jane had six children:

• Mary Drever b. 2nd February 1841. She died sometime before 1851 as a sibling was given the same name.

• Thomas Drever b. 16th November 1845 who married Catherine Burgar

• James Drever b. 19th April 1948 who married Mary Ann Muir

• Mary Drever b. 14th May 1851 who married Robert Leslie and later James Foulis

• Robert Drever b. about 1854 who married Jane Mowat

• David Drever b. 22nd March 1858. He was the first of three brothers to homestead at Streakey Bay, South Australia. He had family.

Jane died sometime in the early 1860s.

Thomas Drever remarried, his second wife being Mary Harcus.
